DESIGN

I didn't always know I wanted to be a designer, but I knew I always wanted to create things. What I love about fashion design is that it is art that is integrated into your day to day life. You get to create things that people live their life in.  One of my favorite parts about designing is the details. I have a love and an obsession for small intricate details; details that may not be visible at first, sort of like a game of eye spy. But when you focus in you see the decorative stitch work, beaded accents, artful pleating, or hidden fabric details that creates an intriguing plot twist for those who see it.

My real passion for design began not with the production but with the conceptual process. I love finding inspiration from obscure places to everyday ordinary objects. Then you are producing an illustration that takes the idea that's in your mind and turns it into a tangible vision. From there it tumbles and turns through a maze of changes and slowly but surely the thought bubbles of ideas in your head become a real life object. This process from concept to production is a crazy fun stressful thrill that I've always enjoyed.
