Social Media Marketing

My passion for social media marketing began with my background in retail.  Working in a retail store in 2010 I soon began to notice how great of an impact social media was starting to make on businesses.   Working in a small locally owned business I quickly developed a social media strategy and plan that began my journey (professionally) into the social media marketing world.  In 2013 when I began my second position in social media, 70% of adults were shopping online and 54% of adults were following the brands they were shopping with on social media. These numbers have continued to grow as the online and e-commerce industry continues to explode and evolve. One of my favorite parts about social media is that with traditional advertising it was always a one way conversation between brand and consumer. With social media you are able to develop a two way  (live!) interactive and engaging conversation between brand and consumer. This active engagement and interaction develops customer advocates and brand loyalty. My favorite part is that the brand and the consumer are able to inspire each other.  Seeing what consumers do and what they love about your product opens so many new and inspiring doors. I love seeing new ways that customers use products that a brand may not have thought of until their customer posted about it on social media. Social media is the only type of marketing that can touch consumers at every stage of the buying process. Having this ability in such a visual and techno savy era is vital to business and is why social media will continue to grow and prosper.
